The aftermath of the pandemic and the sharp rise in the cost of living in the Philippines means that families are having a harder time providing for their most basis needs.
Business Start-Up Loans
In 2020 – 2021 we trained 287 vulnerable adults how to manage and run their own business. 86% of those businesses are still running and are providing enough money for families to buy their own food and pay for their water. However due to lack of funds this programme is suspended but if you wish to donate please contact us on info@p-c-f.org
New Community Farms
Community-managed farms providing a reliable food supply and income for out-of-work families.
In late 2020 and mid 2021 we set up 2 community managed farms providing a reliable food supply and income for out of work families.
In mid 2022 one of the farms was converted to be a chicken farm as the soil was too solid to successfully grow vegetables.
We have 600 free range chickens that are providing approximately 70,00 eggs a year to sustain our feeding programme and monthly food packs and any surplus eggs are sold to generate a small income for the charity.
Father’s Shoe Making Program
Producing a rubber boot, slippers, and school shoes made from aeroplane tyres and the inner tube of truck tyres.
We are making rubber boots, flip flops, sandals and school shoes from aeroplane tyres and the inner tube of truck tyres.
Each student receives handmade school shoes which are both durable and waterproof and handed down to their siblings to wear when the shoes no longer fit them.
This year we have made body and bum bags, and glass covers from the inner tube from truck tyres to add to our range of upcycled products.
Mother’s Livelihood Programme
Our livelihood programme started in 2005 for mothers who were either widowed, single, senior, or whose husbands were unable to work. Together, with these beautiful mothers we learnt how to make the most stunning products by using recycled ring pulls from canned drinks. Since 2005 these products have kept hundreds of mothers in work. The mothers run a savings plan called Women of Worth and save money each month. At the end of the year they divide the money between them and start a supplementary business which then enables them to work part time with us and we can employ and train another batch of vulnerable mothers from the community.
It is a wonderful project and we are proud that we have been able to sustain it for 18 years thanks to all our supporters and wholesale clients who purchase their handmade products.
If you think you could help us sell our beautiful Purple Products we would love to hear from you we are always looking for Purple Products Sellers (PPS) so for more information on how you help us in this way please click here.
We truly appreciate our supporters, without YOU we cannot help our incredible beneficiaries.
We are happy to provide reports detailing how your donations are spent.
